For the protocol: We had a short e-mail exchange, I had to ask for
additional debug input and then the conversation stalled. Since no other
bug report about this misbehavior came in and noone else commented here,
I suggest that this is most probably a local issue and thus not an RC
bug. Lowering severity.

Feel free to return to the conversation, I'm still eager to help. This
bug report will be closed by end of February 2022 if I don't see more
evidence about this being a problem with exim or the packaging.
