Hi folks,

i'm trying to build a deb package under ubuntu dapper (exim version 4.60) to
include SQLite support in the code, disable other support than Mailbox and
optimeze the auth mechanism by include SPA.

After read and follow the debian/rules notes i'm unable to build it because
it seems that a EDITME* file that is copied to Local/Makefile is not present
(previously erased at another stage in the building process).

The steps i'm taking, correct me if i'm wrong please is the next:

   1. apt-get build-dep exim4
   2. apt-get source exim4
   3. cd exim4-60
   4. follow debian/rules notes modifiying the correct values
   5. dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -b -uc

After this step a debian set of packages is created (if it doesn't stop
because the EDITME* is not present and the Local/Makefile is not evaluated
by make).

When you check the added support (exim -bV) neither of the changes i did are
present because the source coded in the build has been patched.

I would like to know how to create successfully a custom exim4 package.
Thanks in advance for you help,.
