[Pkg-exim4-users] Simple rewriting question

Hi,

[I don't *think* this is Debian specific, but I'm too scared of getting
flamed by the upstream Exim guys :)]

I'm configuring exim to relay outgoing mail using lavabit.com
(http://lavabit.com/settings.html) as a smarthost. If I understand its
responses (seen both by playing with exim and by testing with swaks),
it requires *both* the envelope-from as well as the mail-header-from to
be set to 'username at lavabit.com', or else it rejects the mail (after
receiving the data) with:

** 550 This user account is not authorized to send messages with the
address someuser at somedomain.tld. Please adjust your e-mail client
settings and try again.

Using this rewrite rule
(in /etc/exim4/conf.d/rewrite/00-exim4-config_header) seems to work:

*	username at lavabit.com	Ff

Is this the 'right' way to do this? Is this a typical restriction for
'consumer grade' smarthosts? I generally use Gmail's smarthost, which
seems to accept mail 'as is', although I believe that it then rewrites
the mail-header-from.
