[Pkg-exim4-users] How to get around "Must issue a STARTTLS command first"

I did that, actually found some serious bugs in ca-certificates
(disabling all breaks completely, disabling all but one cert still
makes all of them end up in the .crt file).

So I have removed all but one entry in 
	/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt
but still I get:
	(gnutls_handshake): A TLS packet with unexpected length was received.

Anything else I could try?
