[Pkg-exim4-users] exim4 configuration

I was running Hardy with, among others, rkhunter, exim4, and logwatch.
After running "dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config" everything ran well.
Logwatch and rkhunter sent daily messages and I was able to send email
thru my ISP's smtp server. I just had to reload hardy due to a dying hd.
After installing rkhunter, exim4, and logwatch I left the exim4 default
configuration in place and verified rkhunter and logwatch could
communicate. External servers were, of course, unreachable. After running
"dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config" with the options I *thought* I remembered,
I could send mail but rkhunter and logwatch stopped communicating.
Obviously I didn't remember the configuration correctly. The options I
used were:

mail sent by smarthost; received via SMTP or fetchmail
System mail name: cox.net
IP addresses to listen for incoming: blank
other destinations: localhost (or blank, same result)
Machines to relay mail for: blank
host name for outgoing: smtp.west.cox.net
Hide local mail name: no
DNS-Queries minimal: no
mbox format: Ok
split configuration: no

Any pointers appreciated.
