[Pkg-exim4-users] What services are able to work after one mail server installation ?

i did an installation, according to tasksel; mail server Wheezy.
i can send and receive e-mails, but if i use thunderbird (squeezy
desktop), it complain, saying that password are going to go unprotected,
something related to smtp.

i just, want to have a mail server at home with 50 users.
Is there a how to available? or a doc? that cover that area.
What services are available by default?
