[pymvpa] Trouble installing py26-mvpa on Mac OS 10.6, "Git checkout failed"

That is ok  because it is just a url for http transport for GIT. Actual
page for mortals is https://github.com/PyMVPA/PyMVPA . I am not sure
what is your problem exactly.  Try running 

GIT_TRACE=2 port install 

may be it would give some hints on what exact operation fails with GIT
