stock oneiric probably wasn't honored to ship our flagship product with
it.  yeap: according to
http://neuro.debian.net/pkgs/python-mvpa2.html only upcoming release
(precise) will be lucky to ship an already outdated version of PyMVPA
2.0.0 ;)
Just use our NeuroDebian repository http://neuro.debian.net/ to
make your life full-color again.
