[apologies if you receive multiple copies of this announcement]

The Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg is looking for two PhD
students for a research project on evaluating multivariate pattern
analysis for high-field (7-Tesla) fMRI data.

This research project is performed in close collaboration of the
departments of Biomedical Magnetic Resonance and Experimental Psychology
and covers all methodological aspects – from basic physical principles
to the analysis of cognitive processes. Researchers at the Institute of
Psychology are also involved in the development of the MVPA analysis
software “PyMVPA” as well as the data analysis platform “NeuroDebian” –
offering additional opportunities for access to novel methodological
developments.

These positions offer an excellent opportunity to acquire expertise in
functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) by working with experts at
one of Germany's leading imaging facilities. Research institutions in
Magdeburg, such as the Otto-von-Guericke-University, the
Leibniz-Institute for Neurobiology, and the German Center for
Neuro-Degenerative Diseases, offer a multitude of research-dedicated
MRI-scanners (Siemens 7 Tesla, Trio, Verio, Skyra and Philips Achieva).
The Institute of Psychology operates its own compute cluster for data
analysis.
