Hello,

 From which version of fglrx-driver did you upgrade ? Were you able to 
play videos with the previous version ?

It might be an issue with Xv. Do you have this line in the section 
"Device" of /etc/X11/xorg.conf ?
Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
