Hello,

there were many bugs from 8.4 up to 8.7 with Xv - could you please try
out the new 8-10 from experimental?

Maybe the output of "xvinfo" (as user) and your xorg.conf may also help.

Personally I had an issue with 8.2 up to 8.9 with Xv and kaffeine => to
kaffeine sessions crashed the whole computer.
