Thanks for the info. I solved my problem with the Sid packages, mixing Testing and Sid repositories... The 9.7 version worked with my Ati 4670 card and the new 2.6.30 kernel.

The problem now is managing the mixed distro....Somebody must test things, and then it was me :-D.
