I also have AIGLX set to on in my "ServerLayout" section, if that makes 
a difference. Stab in the dark here, but worth a shot I reckon.

Section "ServerLayout"
    Option         "AIGLX" "on"
    Identifier     "Default Layout"
    Screen      0  "aticonfig-Screen[0]" 0 0
    InputDevice    "Generic Keyboard"
    InputDevice    "Configured Mouse"
