Dear all
I decided to write on this bug report since Marvin reported a
Xorg.0.log very similar to the one I get. I'm currently on an
up-to-date amd64 Debian testing, that is with fglrx 9-9-1 installed.
I configured ATI card with "aticonfig --initial" and also tried the
suggested "aticonfig --acpi-services=off", with the same result. At
start-up, X will fail to load with a message similar to the following:
"(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:0 at 0:17:0) found"

The complete Xorg debug messages and config are attached. I am also
attaching a file with info on my machine.
liviu at debian-liv:~$ uname -a
Linux debian-liv 2.6.30-1-amd64 #1 SMP Sat Aug 15 18:09:19 UTC 2009
x86_64 GNU/Linux

On a side note, I was having issues with fglrx 9-2, but of different
nature. With the stable version, I was able to configure and correctly
boot X using fglrx.

Please let me know if there are ways to work around these crashes.
Liviu
