Initially I added
Modes           "1280x800" "1280x720" "1152x768" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"

and
BusID       "PCI:1:5:1"

but X failed complaining with not finding PCI:1:5:0. When I reverted
to 1.5.0, X started without hitch. I would assume that only the
missing Modes were to blame.

Thank you a lot for pointing that out. Now opengl seems to work as expected.
