To have a "clean" setup I planned to create a new profile in
icewaesel where I can disable almost everything. Unfortunately
iceweasel -ProfileManager
crashed the X11 server. Is any other plugin loaded during this
step?

The only "special" thing I'm aware of is I have no 32bit library
installed. That system is running dual-stack (IPv6 and IPv4).
