fglrx-driver is currently not in testing, but the version that was
backported has been in testing for two months until it was removed due
to lack of support for Xserver 1.14 - that makes it unusable in
testing/unstable, but it will work fine with the older Xserver 1.12 in
wheezy.
There are currently only beta relases of fglrx available (can be found
in experimental) that support Xserver 1.14, but these are no candidates
for backporting.
I'd like to see the "working" driver in backports before I start more
experimental work in sid (already sitting in NEW).
