Can we please create a git repository and import the upstream releases
in its original packed form (be it .zip, .run or .whatever) there? And
then just use epochs and the git hash as version number. This should be
more intuitive than amd's numbering scheme.

The magic command line to package this release using the old scheme was:

DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="VER=14.6~beta1.0-07.11 ZVER=14.6-beta-v1.0-jul11

mv fglrx-driver_14.6~beta1.0-07.11.orig.tar.xz

fglrx-driver_14.6~betav1.0-2014.07.11.orig.tar.xz
