Hi all,

I am a bit lost with the version of fglrx drivers .

I need 3D acceleration so, as far as I know, my only way today is to use
the ATI/AMD non free driver.

I just bought a new box and migrated my old one running Debian/Wheezy
with a HD5670 Radeon and Catalyst 12.6 to a new machine chipped with a
graphic card AMD FirePro W2100. Unfortunately, I read that it is Linux
and Ubuntu supported but didn't see I may have an issue with Debian.

On the ATI site, there is only Catalyst 15.7 available but I read
somewhere (due to my issue, I read a lot these days !) that this card
could work with Catalyst 14.x. (.5 but not sure)

I just saw in the Debian/wheezy backports packages site, the fglrx
packages are named 1:14.9+ga14.201-2~bpo70+1 but into the Debian/Wheezy
backport displayed by my Synaptic, these packages are named
8.97.100.7-3~bpo70+1.

I am not familiar with all of this so, would it be possible for some of
you guys to confirm if I have to install 8.97.100.7-3~bpo70+1 or
1:14.9+ga14.201-2~bpo70+1 ? (in hope that catalyst 14.9 is well
supporting my FirePro W2100, I can't find again where I read this :( )
Is there any plan for Jessie to see catalyst 15.7 implemented ?

Many thanks for reading and patience.
Kind regards.
Philippe
