[Pkg-fonts-devel] Still seeking the reason for #255569 (FreeMono
not recognized as monospace)

Yesterday, I did some work on the ttf-freefont package, which lead to
the upload of the 20060501cvs-1 release, as a snapshot of upstream CVS
(the rationale being that it fixes a very annoying ligature bug in the
monospace font)
However, I still can't get rid of #255569 (and bugs merged with
it)which makes FreeMono not being proposed by applications that only
use monospeces fonts.
and, indeed running "ftinfo -a" on it shows the fotn as not known to
be monospace:
bubulle at mykerinos:~> ftinfo -a /usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont/FreeMono.ttf
.../...
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont/FreeMono.ttf: 0: postscript: isFixedPitch: 0
.../...
Would one of you people have a clue about this?
I tried various things by wild guessing, even changing the Width field
of all chars that were not 600 in the original SFD file....without
success.
