[Pkg-fonts-devel] Bitstream Vera Latin characters used but no Copyright notice

Hi fellow fonts packagers.

I was browsing in the Ubuntu bugs reported
against my Debian packages and found this one:

As it looks, my fonts package include characters from Bitstream Vera. My
understanding is that a correct fix would be to add a Copyright notice
about these characters. But Bitstream's license seems to let upstream
relicense the derived work under the GPL (as the rest of the glyphs).

What am I saying wrong? Do you have already addressed similar issues in
your packages?
