Dear pkg-fonts team,
I'm looking for sponsorship for various open fonts released by GFS (the
Greek Font Society) namely:
ttf-gfs-artemisia,
ttf-gfs-bodoni-classic
ttf-gfs-complutum
ttf-gfs-didot-classic
ttf-gfs-didot
ttf-gfs-gazis
ttf-gfs-neohellenic
ttf-gfs-olga
ttf-gfs-solomos
ttf-gfs-theokritos
The packaging is available on the team svn:
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-fonts/packages/ttf-gfs-*
And the various source packages are up on
http://yosch.org/packages/debian
The reason I've chosen to not put all these fonts in one *single* big
package is that they have different styles and histories. In many
scenarios you will use one and not the other, so you may probably not
want to have them all but pick and install what you need. They are also
released separately upstream. And providing accurate descriptions for
all the font families in one single package is going to be hard. Also I
wanted to stick with the ttf-$foundry-$fontfamilyname convention and I
had to redo tarball structures since the initial .zip file was holding
OS X resource forks.
Of course, your thoughts welcome :)
GFS has released two other open fonts, but these two will have to wait
before getting packaged as there are some licensing issues to be
addressed (using a review version of the license). I'm in touch with
them about this.
Thanks,
