Dear ftpmaster,
AFAICT this package as well as the corresponding library
(libfont-ttf-perl) is maintained by the Debian Perl Group.
But you're right it seems the package has not made it to the archive
yet: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=357486
There are unique and very useful advanced features not available
anywhere else in this package. Maybe we can find someone in the fonts
team here willing to maintain it? Who would like to step up?
Otherwise I can adjust the metapackage to drop the dependency until the
package is ready.
Cheers,
