Hi,

your /etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-liberation.conf should actually be placed
in /etc/fonts/conf.avail/65-ttf-liberation.conf and be symlinked to
/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-ttf-liberation.conf.
