Sounds good. (I'd add a little note/link about best practises for
upstream interactions there too).
Something we could also look into later on:
- ots: a library to do checking on opentype fonts as they are and will
be increasingly used on the web (from the Chromium devs)

- the new fc-query from the latest fontconfig.
- and goodies like fontaine developed by Ed Trager for the OpenFontLibrary.
