[Pkg-fonts-devel] Lack of coordination of efforts on the fonts team

Hi.

I would like to propose that we better coordinate our efforts in the
team.

Even during my short presence in the team, I have noticed that we are
less of a team and more of many contributors working independently,
without each other knowing about the whole picture.

As the most obvious evidence of this is that we usually see this mailing
list more with automated posts with accepts and rejects than with people
saying that they intend to package this and that, that other people
would be welcome on doing something or another.

Two points here:

* I am guilty of this very thing that I am seeing here and I would like
to change the way that I work so that I can let other people know, so
that, say, in the event that I die, others can pick up from where I
left. (Substitute the "I die" with any other part that may mean my
  absence).

* I don't want to transform the mailing list into an extension of an IRC
or some instant messaging: that would be too much chatting for little
gain, but we are on the other extreme of the spectrum, having little
  to no discussion.

So, what do you think about this?

Regards, Rogério Brito.
