Well, i did write that, but mainly out of ignorance.  I don't really
know that much about the underlying tech.  Thank you for the
corrections; let me clarify that i'd be happy to see something like this
using a well-documented, unencumbered, publicly-specified format that is
widely implemented in modern browsers :)

WOFF does sound like the way to go.  Do we have any tools in debian that
can convert fonts to WOFF?
