[Pkg-fonts-devel] RFS: fonts-play

Dear mentors and pkg-fontsers,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "fonts-play".

My reason for packaging this font is that the game "Red Eclipse" (ITPed by me)
utilises it, and I plan on using fonts-play as a (build-(long story))dependency
for redeclipse-data.

 * Package name    : fonts-play
   Version         : 1.002+20111214.1-1
   Upstream Authors: Jonas Hecksher
                   : Dave Crossland
 * URL             : http://code.google.com/p/googlefontdirectory/source/browse/play/
 * License         : OFL-1.1 for font, Apache-2.0 for font-generation scripts
   Section         : fonts

It builds those binary packages:

fonts-play - minimalistic sans serif typeface

The package is available at debexpo/mentors:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/fonts-play
  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/f/fonts-play/fonts-play_1.002+20111214.1-1.dsc

Alternatively the source is kept in git at:

  http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-fonts/fonts-play.git;a=tree
  git clone git://git.debian.org/pkg-fonts/fonts-play.git

I have contacted Dave Crossland about the origin of the font, and he confirmed
that it was basically thrown over the wall from PlayType https://playtype.com/
(no longer mentioning it at all) to Google.

The patched-in makefiles are my attempt at contributing a fairly general build
method for all googlefontdirectory ttf fonts, (when i asked for one Dave pointed
out that none existed, and i was free to contribute one,) hence why they are a
bit excessive for only one font, but I'm using them now in the package to have
things setup correctly if they get implemented upstream.

The package is lintian and pbuilder clean, and has a get-orig-source target
which you may want to avoid on a slow connection (the GFD mercurial repo is
> 400MB)

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards,

--
