Argh... yet another Debconf I'm not able to attend... :-(

May I suggest a fun addition to the traditional Debconf Cheese&Wine?
Testing the immense collective knowledge of the Debian tribe around
exotic Cheeses and Wines from across the globe against their knowledge
of fonts with the following games:
http://cheeseorfont.mogrify.org/
http://fontorwine.com/
A distinguished kind of drinking game or something :-)
(someone should do a standalone or AGPL-ed version of these...)

And for the font session itself, to make things even more interesting, I
think you ought to talk about fonts like Daniel Johnson's Grana Padano
and Aguardiente (yummy), and give a demo of packaging them :-)
http://io.debian.net/~danielj/

And also concerning the all-important policy discussions: from now on,
we need to make it very clear that every open font in Debian must
include support for FISH CAKE WITH SWIRL DESIGN (U+1F365) from the
Miscellaneous Symbols And Pictographs block in Unicode 6.0 :-)

Yes, what looks a bit like our logo:

I think that is bound to attract more people into the world of fonts,
and hopefully get us more team participants, what do you all think?

Erm... more seriously you may find some inspiration from the various
topics covered or simply touched upon (and the corresponding links) in
our previous talks/BoFs in Edinburgh/FOSDEM around fonts. Or at least
measure all the progress achieved since then. (I just pushed the slides
from the font BoF at DebConf 2007 to talks/ in our team repository).

I won't be at this DebConf but I'd be happy to contribute to the talk
material and to the discussions.

Wishing you a great time in Banja Luka.
Cheers,
