[Pkg-fonts-devel] LaTeX font package naming convention

Dear list,

I have decided to reorganize my thailatex package by
moving its fonts to thaifonts-scalable which has been
providing the sfd source for it, instead of copying the
generated Type 1 fonts over as done before.
All LaTeX-related stuffs are also moved, including the
*.fd files, and a new .sty file is also created.

This will be done along with font binary package renaming
according to the new package naming convention [1],
although only partially [2].

My question is: is there a naming convention for LaTeX
font packages?

For desktop font packages, it's in "fonts-<foundry>-<name>"
or "fonts-<name>" pattern. Should LaTeX fonts be in, say,
"fonts-latex-<foundry>" pattern?

And should the package Section: be "fonts" or "tex"?
("tex", I guess?)

Note that I'm not splitting the package into families for LaTeX
fonts. Managing the font maps in sets is easier.

Regards,
