Let me know if there's anything I can help with.

Note that in this release, the "source" files are packaged differently
from previous
releases. Now build scripts are included. It is intended that (given
FontForge is
installed) a "make" in the top directory should build the fonts, to make
packaging easier.

You can also "make ttf" or "make otf", to get those subsets.
(I prefer the OpenType versions on my Debian-based system, which are smaller
and work with no problems, but the TrueType ones work as well.)

Looked at
Here's my summary:

Fixed in this release
ttf-freefont: Strange glyphs for some chars in Control Pictures block

    ttf-freefont: What is Untitled1.ttf?

FreeSerif: Glyphs for U+2293 (square cap) and U+2294 (square cup) inverted

Not a FreeFont bug
ttf-freefont: Reports variant in Bulgarian language
    (a fontconfig bug)

FreeSans: Pango-WARNING **: Error loading GPOS table 5503
    ? pango problem?

ttf-freefont: FTBFS twice in a row
    (packaging problem)

non-automated instructions, which also refer to cruft files
    (packaging problem)
