[Pkg-fonts-devel] Initiating the switch to git for packages maintained in SVN

Hello folks,

Progress is on its way: let's move to git..:-)

To learn more about all this, I just converted the "fonts-arabeyes"
repository from SVN to GIT.

It is now available as
git+ssh://git.debian.org/pkg-fonts/fonts-arabeyes

To make this conversion, I used the recipe described in
http://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/Git, which worked really well. I have to
admit that I don't necessarily understand everything...but the job is
apparently done.

I would appreciate if you guys, particularly git wizards, can have a
look there. 

If things are OK, my intent is to gradually convert all our SVN
directories to GIT. Of course, if some of us don't feel comfortable
with that, we can keep some packages in SVN : after all, it's not like
font packages are complicated stuff with branches, tags and merge
problems...:-)
