[Pkg-fonts-devel] Structuring Git repository of pkg-fonts and creation of IRC channel

Hello All,

I've added some scripts to git repository of pkg-fonts like mr scripts
which will allow mass update and few other magic. First of all I request
every one to clone following

      git clone git.debian.org:/git/pkg-fonts/pkg-fonts.git

Once this is cloned please move all your package git repositories inside
this folder. As an example I've fonts-lato fonts-johnsmith-induni
fonts-android repository

      mv fonts-johnsmith-induni fonts-lato fonts-android pkg-fonts/

Next step will be running make-mrconfig do the following

     cd pkg-fonts #cloned repo from above
     ./make-mrconfig

This script will create .mrconfig and .gitignore files (a sample is
already present in repo) This will allow you to mass clone/update all
packages in fonts team git repo. After make-mrconfig is finished, run
below command

      mr up

This will get all git repos from the pkg-fonts team.

Additionally repository also contain following script

1. git-missing-pristine-tar
2. git-missing-upstream

Run this script in package repo's which misses pristine-tar or upstream
branch that will be created and committed by these scripts. After that
you need to do

      git push --all
      git push --tags

There is one more script which I took from pkg-perl team along with
above 2 scripts its called update_package.bash this script can be used
to do automatic bumping of standrds-version currently it works from
3.8.4 to 3.9.3 I'm still preparing this script and once its modified for
our team I will commit it to pkg-fonts.git

Next Topic: IRC

We don't have IRC channel for Debian Fonts Task Force team and I've
created one at #debian-fonts IRC. I've added pabs and bubulle as Masters
for channel please hangout here :-). I will request KGB to be added for
our git repositories and may be as last step we should get PET for the
team considering amount of package we maintain.
