+1

1) In the case a thand, we distribute fonts with their sources. We just
don't have the resources currently in Debian to rebuild the fonts from
these sources. And even if there weren't sources available in .ufo
format, fonts that are distributed merely in their native .ttf format
have routinely been accepted into the archive.

2) Even if we were able to compile fonts from the .ufo source format
into any other format, it is not clear if rebuilding them without
changing the font name would infringe the license of the fonts or not.
