Hi Aqsa,
I've uploaded your letter to AMCAS; however, no request on AACOMAS was located with PHAdvising at luc.edu<mailto:PHAdvising at luc.edu>.

Hi Aqsa,
To use an existing PHPAC packet for application to health professional schools, I will need you to send me a completed and updated release of letters form as a PDF (available on our website).
Per university policy, the lifespan of these records is 7 years, so you are able to reuse it up to 7 years from the time it was written. If you'd like an updated packet, you will need to apply on PHAD as a re-applicant and meet some additional requirements. From there, you can request an addendum which would be uploaded to health professional school application portals in addition to the previous letter. More details for the reapplicant process are available on our website.
Thank you,

Hello!
Yes, I did submit my primaries but did not proceed any further in the application process. What are the steps if I would like to simply use the same letter that was submitted for me last cycle?
Further, if I do use the same letter from last year but, for whatever reason, I need to apply to schools again next year, would I still be able to reuse my letter and/or request a new one?
I hope that made sense. Thank you in advance!

Hi Aqsa,
According to our records, you submitted applications to both AMCAS and AACOMAs so we uploaded a letter on your behalf last cycle, so the options you have at this point are to use that same committee letter from the previous cycle, or go through the re-application process and receive an addendum to the old committee letter.
Regarding the re-application process, you would need to register by June 14, 2019, and any new letters of recommendation need to come in by July 12, 2019 (see FAQ at https://www.luc.edu/prehealth/phpac/re-applicantinformation/ and instructions at https://www.luc.edu/prehealth/phpac/re-applicantprocess/).
Let us know how you'd like to proceed!

Subject: Committee Letter
Hi there,
I had a quick question regarding the process of going through the prehealth committee. I just graduated this past May. I had requested a letter the summer following my junior year, but ended up not applying to medical schools at all due to personal reasons. I will be applying to schools this summer and was wondering if I could simply use the same letter that was written for me last summer or would I have to go through the whole process again.
Further, if this IS a viable option, I was wondering if I would still be considered a first time applicant to the committee and would be able to apply a second time in the future if needed. Or would me requesting the same letter written for me last year be the last time I could be a part of the committee at all?
If this is NOT a viable option and I am required to go through the committee process again, do I need to rewrite my personal statement and redo the other necessary parts considering I never applied to medical schools and not much has changed from the last cycle. I am really happy with my personal statement and have revised it many times to get it to where it is now and I was curious if I would have to write a new one since technically that is a requirement to be a re-applicant (but again, I never used it because I never applied)
I hope that made sense. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time,
Aqsa Ahmed
