Thank you for filing this bug back in February, and also talking to the Poppler folks upstream about the challenge it's been to see this addressed in Debian. Your report should've been acted on sooner and I'm sorry that didn't happen.
A fix for Debian Trixie has been prepared and is awaiting final approval by the Debian Release Team; you will get an email closing out this bug report when that happens. (It will initially be in the trixie-proposed-updates suite, if that sounds familiar.) You may reach out to me if you'd like help upgrading then. I hope Debian continues to meet your needs and you'll keep filing bugs like this one when something isn't right.
