Take a look at the prepare scripts in svn[1] to understand what should
happen (look at cp commands with .orig.tar.gz params)

Note that a svn-buildpackage exists, too. For that there is a
restriction to place the orig.tar.gz file in a directory which is set
in a certain configuration variable.
