free character images

Hi,

I'm packaging (almost finished) a visual novel interpreter called RenPy (
http://www.bishoujo.us/renpy/ ), but it seems that most of the games written
with it are not that free. Are there free character images available with GPL
license or similar that I could use to make a game? I even need them to
replace the example's graphics which are not-free.

I will upload RenPy soon, I'll probably have my connection back by tomorrow
(or I won't believe them anymore).

BTW, I've mailed some of the games authors just in case they wanted to
relicense it :)
