First if you don't have experience with Debian packaging is strongly
suggest you to have a look on the Debian Maintainer guide[1]. Then we
use some specific tools in the team: subversion, svn-buildpackage and
quilt.
The most important is subversion.
Then you'll need a game. Do you have already found something to take
care off? :).
