Bug#435804: Segfaults during first sortie

Package: warzone2100
Version: 2.1.0~0.svn1436-1
Severity: important
I can repeatedly cause a segfault thusly:
- Choose "Single Player Campaign"
- Choose "New Campaign"
- Select four tanks by dragging left mouse button
- Order tanks eastward by clicking east with left button.
Past the flashing blue oil, there is a gap in a north-south mountain
range. After passing through this, tanks automatically engage a
handful of red-orange infantry units. At this point, the segfault
occurs:
$ warzone2100
Segmentation fault
$ warzone2100
*** glibc detected *** warzone2100: malloc(): memory corruption (fast): 0x0000000007717830 ***
The tutorial map worked without problems. I am using a Radeon 9000
GPU with the free radeon(4) driver, with direct rendering. I edited
~/.warzone2100/config to change the screen size to 800x600 and to
disable fullscreen.
