and thanks for your report. What (IMHO) would also be interesting is
some other tests with other DRI-demanding application so that you could
eventually figure out whether ppracer is at fault and/or your X driver,
which could be DRI-capable but maybe configured differently and maybe
performing worse than before? At first glance, glxgears or such could
give you some hints, and maybe xmoto or something like that?

Checking for bugreport(s) against the driver you're using could also be
interesting, I guess.
