OK, that's a different error.

There is. In neverball, unlike toppler (just to name a game that works fine
for you), the call to Mix_OpenAudio sets audio channels to 1 (mono).
For the next upload I planned to change that to stereo since that fixed
another bug (see #410480).
There is a patch[1] available, but unfortunately I don't have an amd64 box,
so I can't build it for you. (You didn't seem to have problems with the
previous patch, so I guess you can do it again; still, if you really need
it, I'll try to find someone who can build it ;)
