I think I'll have the time... allready copied the -data package.  But
there seems not be an "official" tarball for the engine, instead the say
to get the source from svn.

Could you confirm, that svn export
https://glest.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/glest glest (and then removing
data/glest_game) is the right approach?
