Seventeen Evergreen play Fat City, 314 11th St, SF! Friday February
29.
2007 brought them to UK and Europe for live and radio appearances on
BBC Radio One, 6 Music, and XFM.
The Daily Telegraph voted their debut album, "Life Embarrasses me on
Planet Earth" one of the 10 best for 2007! More recent accolades from
Uncut Magazine, Pitchfork, etc.
While they are busy crafting the follow up record to be released this
year, they thought they'd take a break and kick out the jams with
their friends Hot Tub.
This from the promoters:
"They deliver a heady mix of rock and electronics that is reminiscent
of Air,Pink Floyd and Boards of Canada."
Support from Oakland hip hop/electro trio Hottub, plus DJ's until 4AM
including DJ Sets from Seventeen Evergreen and Hottub members and
Sammy D (Dirty Bird, Buzzin' Fly), DJ Deevice (High on Hope), Solar
(Bang
the Box, Bionic), Ryan P (Gun Club) and Adnan (Forward).

Who are Seventeen Evergreen?
"With Life Embarrasses Me On Planet Earth, Seventeen Evergreen bring
an
intriguing new slant to Eno's notion of "nostalgia for the future"
"The album's other-worldliness recalls Midlake's Trials of Van
Occupanther, only with the time-machine set for the future rather than
the
past."
- 4/5 stars The Independent UK
"Seventeen Evergreen bridge Pavement and AIR via Flaming Lips and
Grandaddy to Sculpt pulsating sonic organisims that touchdown on
genius. Abject
brilliance."
-Total Spec UK
"Lunar One, the pastoral title track of their forthcoming EP, could be
Radiohead's "High And Dry" for the new millennium."
-4/5 stars The Independent UK
"It's great. I particularly draw your attention to the genius of
opener
Music is the wine, worthy of Lee Hazlewood and Leonard Cohen. The rest
is
dreamy, quirky, croaky-voices, mildly smacked-out arty slacker rock
somewhere
between Grandaddy and Pavement."
