I don't admit it isn't important, but I do question if it is release critical.
Especially if the package hasn't supported non en locals in the past.

In the comment for #472866 & #503735 you state fixes have been applied to svn,
but then question the need for the package to remain in debian as there are
better alternatives.
Given that one is a RC bug and that is holding out release of lenny, could I
ask you as maintainer to either upload the patched version fixing these two
bugs, or request the package removal from lenny on quality grounds as there
are better alternatives available.
