Bug#521739: [gravitywars] Game runs too fast on a modern CPU - add a game speed option?

Package: gravitywars
Severity: wishlist

On my PC, which is a quad core Phenom 9750 (2.4 Ghz) with a Radeon HD3870 video card, Gravity Wars seems almost
unplayable, because it runs too fast.

I am familiar with the "old games running too quickly" problem from some other games, where the game developer didn't
account for faster speeds of future CPUs and did not insert enough msec delays or synchronization against the
timer, relying instead on slowness of CPU or video output to maintain an adequate pace of the game.

I suspect there is the same problem with Gravity Wars. So it would be nice to either have a configurable game
speed option, or have the game speed unbound from the CPU speed and bound to wallclock timer instead.

Thanks.
