Upstream is aware of that it can take quite some time in huger maps. If
you turn off the animations, sounds and showing of enemy turns it should
reduce the needed time a fair bit.

If you mean with last upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6 instead of from 1.6.1 to
1.6.2 then yes. If you mean 1.6.1 to 1.6.2 it rather should be a bit
reduced again because upstream is actively working on reducing that kind
of stuff.
What is your system, btw.? CPU? To get some useful informations about
it mentioning in what campaign/scenario/map you are experiencing the
issue together with a savegame could be helpful, too.
