I'm unable to reproduce the bug you recently filed:

I don't get any part of the screen cut off on my widescreen laptop.

Other members of the Debian Games team were also unable to reproduce it.

I'm using Debian testing with an Intel 945GM graphics card.

Please give us some more information about your graphical environment
and drivers.

Does xgalaga change the size of the screen when it goes full-screen?

The output of xdpyinfo would be useful too.

Please try using the xgalaga -winsize option to set the screen size that
xgalaga tries to set when it goes full-screen.

If you were able to trace through the code with a debugger, that might
also be useful.
