Well, I wouldn't worry that much about them. It's just two tiny packages
that are already in testing, and they have proved to be useful to ease
upgrades from 3rd-party repos, not only for Ubuntu.

Every single ROM out there is non-redistributable? I thought there were
some that were free to use, ie no source code, but free to copy,
redistribute, use etc.
Manu, thanks for the "Closes: #xxx" pointer, I had totally missed it! :D
As you see, -3 is already uploaded and about to be built successfully on
all architectures. I've read a bit about maintaining backports, and well,
it seems that if you agree to add a package to backports, you'll have to
be well on top of it to keep it up to date and so on.
I have enough on my plate, plus my computer isn't the fastest in the wild
west, so I'd love if someone else would take care of that instead.
Luckily, the package should need no modifications at all.
