mame on armel

Anybody got mame to work on armel architecture?
I built 0.144 (previous versions also did so) on
Squeeze. During compilation I get a lot of such
warning: cast from ‘UINT8*’ to ‘UINT16*’
increases required alignment of target type
Most games die with a segfault when pressed ok.
I think, the above warnings have to do with it.
